Sweet Munchies (“we”, “us”) makes snack boxes, gift hampers and chocolate bouquets for customers in Mutare and across Zimbabwe. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
When you use our contact form
Our contact form asks for your name, your phone or WhatsApp number, and the details of your enquiry (occasion, budget, customisation ideas). Only your name is required. We do not ask for your email address on this form. Submissions are sent to us by email so that we can reply to you.
When you leave a product review
Reviews are handled by WordPress’s built-in comment system. When you leave a review we collect your name, your email address, your star rating and the text of your review, along with your IP address and browser user-agent string, which help us detect spam. Your name and review are shown publicly on the product page. Your email address and IP address are not.
When you contact us directly
If you message us on WhatsApp, email us, or reach us through our social media pages, we keep that conversation and whatever you choose to tell us in it — typically your name, contact number, delivery address and order details.
Automatically, as you browse
Our web host records standard server logs, including IP addresses and the pages requested. Our shop also sets a small number of functional cookies so that your basket remembers what you put in it as you move between pages. These cookies do not identify you personally and are not used for advertising.
What we do not collect
- No payment details. There is no online checkout on this website. You build a basket and send it to us on WhatsApp, and payment is arranged with us directly. We never see or store card numbers on this site.
- No user accounts. Customer registration is switched off. You cannot create an account here, so we hold no usernames or passwords for you.
- No analytics or advertising trackers. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels or third-party tracking scripts on this site.
Why we use your information
We use what you give us to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, take and deliver your order, arrange payment, publish the reviews you choose to leave, and keep basic records of the orders we have fulfilled. We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not send marketing messages to people who have not asked for them.
Who else sees it
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms). When you send us your order on WhatsApp, that conversation is carried on Meta’s service and is subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy terms as well as ours.
- Our web host and email provider, who store this website and the messages it sends on our behalf.
- Delivery help, where an order needs a courier or driver — they receive only the name, address and phone number needed to deliver it.
We may also disclose information where the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as we may reasonably need to follow up on them. Order records are kept for as long as we need them for our business and tax records. Product reviews stay published until you or we remove them. You can ask us to delete any of this sooner.
Your rights
Under Zimbabwe’s Data Protection Act [Chapter 11:12] you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, and object to how we are using it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond as promptly as we can. If you leave a review, you can ask us to remove it at any time.
Keeping it safe
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection and access to the messages you send us is limited to the people who run Sweet Munchies. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable care with what you share with us.
Children
This site is intended for adults placing orders. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us their details, please tell us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
